1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how GemuZen Studio, the trading name of Taleh Sadıqov, an individual developer based in the Republic of Azerbaijan ("GemuZen", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website gemuzen.com (the "Website"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
This Policy does not apply to the GemuZen mobile game. The Game does not use cookies. It stores game data locally on your device and uses the services described in the Privacy Policy.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which also keep small amounts of data in your browser. These technologies allow a website to remember your choices, keep itself secure and measure how it is used. Cookies cannot read other files on your device and do not run programs.
Cookies may be "first-party" (set by the website you visit) or "third-party" (set by another provider, such as an analytics service). They may be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain for a defined period.
3. What We Actually Use
We keep the Website simple and use as few technologies as possible:
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| gemuzen_cookie_consent | Local storage (strictly necessary) | GemuZen (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so that you are not asked again | 12 months, after which you are asked again (or until you clear your browser data) |
| __cf_bm and similar Cloudflare security cookies (only where set) | Strictly necessary cookie | Cloudflare (hosting and security provider) | Distinguishes people from automated bots and protects the Website against attacks and abuse | Up to 30 minutes (security cookies may last longer where Cloudflare requires it) |
| _ga | Analytics cookie | Google Analytics (third party) | Distinguishes visitors so that visits can be counted | Up to 13 months |
| _ga_<property id> | Analytics cookie | Google Analytics (third party) | Maintains the session state for measurement | Up to 13 months |
Analytics cookies are placed only after you have accepted them, wherever you are located. Google signals and advertising features are switched off in our Google Analytics configuration.
The fonts used on the Website are served from our own server. No third-party font service is used, so no information is sent to a font provider.
4. What We Do Not Use
The Website does not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, social-media tracking pixels, cross-site profiling, fingerprinting, data brokers or A/B testing tools. We do not sell or share information collected through the Website for advertising purposes.
5. Why We Use These Technologies
- Strictly necessary: to remember your cookie choice, to keep the Website secure (including Cloudflare's protection against bots and attacks) and to display pages correctly. These cannot be switched off, because the Website would not work as intended without them, and they do not require consent.
- Analytics: to understand how many people visit the Website, which pages are read (for example the legal pages or the support page), which countries visitors come from at a regional level, and whether pages load correctly. We use this to improve the Website. Analytics information is used in aggregated form and is not used to identify you.
6. Your Consent
Non-essential cookies are placed only after you accept them through our cookie banner. We apply this approach to all visitors, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, where consent is required by law. You may accept or reject analytics cookies with equally simple buttons, and rejecting them does not limit your access to any part of the Website. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we ask you again.
You can change your choice at any time by clicking Cookie Settings at the bottom of any page of the Website, which shows the banner again, or by using your browser settings as described in Section 8. If you withdraw your consent by choosing "Reject", Google Analytics is no longer loaded and the Google Analytics cookies stored for our Website are deleted from your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
7. Third-Party Providers
The Website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes your IP address and technical request data to deliver the Website and to protect it, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's cookie documentation.
Analytics on the Website is provided by Google. Google processes the data as described in its own documentation:
- Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Data processed by Cloudflare and Google Analytics may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, subject to the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking all cookies may affect how some websites work. Instructions are available from the browser makers:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com/en-us/105082
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode, which deletes cookies when the window is closed.
9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, and the Website does not respond to them. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising through the Website, Global Privacy Control signals have no additional effect here. You can still reject analytics cookies at any time as described above.
10. Legal Basis and Retention
Strictly necessary storage and security cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website. Analytics cookies are used on the basis of your consent where consent is required. Data collected through analytics is retained as described in our Privacy Policy; cookie lifetimes are shown in the table in Section 3.
11. Children
The Website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly use cookies to collect personal information from children.
12. Future Changes to the Website
If we add new features to the Website (for example a support form, a newsletter, embedded videos or advertising), the technologies described in this Policy may change. We will update this Policy first and, where required by law, ask for your consent before any new non-essential technology is used.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified on the Website.
